Hatred news and girls reviews [month 1 week 1]

Several things have happened this week. Several media have written about several things that have happened this week. And the #1 thing that bothers me is the way the news were presented.

First of all, i stumbled upon the buzzfeed article again where they speak about the victims of racism. To be honest, it made me feel angry how people like to call themselves the victims of racism when they are not.

  1. the emcee accidentally mixed up two of the most common spanish surnames. what exactly does it have to do with racism?
  2. if i as a producer want a mexican character to be played by a mexican am i considered a racist?
  3. non-asian people usually aren’t good at distinguishing the asian characters, it’s true. the most you can do is to call them ignorant but it’s certainly not racism (i don’t think, most of asians can distinguish russian characters from serbian).

"We are going to get rid of the horse carriages. Period”
YEAH!  Ban  the cars, because air pollution! Ban the horse carriages, because animal harm!

As a libertarian, I don't distinguish "women's rights" from any other rights, and I hate these, as to say, "left feminists" aka "thee third-wave feminism" who are nothing but, well, sexists themselves. So, when somebody from the Rookie magazine published (and then deleted) this link to a public page about women against feminism accompanying it with the words of offenseI couldn't help to roll my eyes at them once again. Because the posts that I had time to look through there were absolutely fair.

While I think, that left feminists are actually killing both feminism and common sense, boyfriend is ready to argue that they also killed everything of femininity. Just, please, stop making brutes out of girls, you! >:/

When Grimes, who identifies herself as a vegan, posted on her tumblr a picture of her with a Ben&Jerry's ice-cream, I became v skeptical about her as a person.

I even started a "fight" on the (guess what website) Rookie magazine where (guess what) the stuff were justifying her as a vegan. Here it is:

She looked cute at the Chanel Couture Show (22 Jan) though.

Recently, I photograph lots of the albums and art books I like from the bookstores/boyfriend's library and also find some cool pieces online, here are few of them:

The first thing I thought when I saw this picture was "They would never posted this picture if it was about the father and his daughter",

and I'm glad, I made these pictures back then, because I was kind of right - I couldn't find any pictures of the girls with their (?) Dads on her official website or anywhere else on the internet.

This is one of my favorites:

"MILK" is a magazine about the kids fashion. It's a collaboration of french and japanese designers and photographers, and they published a book not so long ago! I noticed it in my favorite bookstore in Tokyo and we bought it immediately. Boyfriend tried to find it on the internet but it was never mentioned by any of the internet giants of retailing.

I also found one of the MILK photographers (accidentally), Louis Decamps, who has a great taste and a huge portfolio ;)

  • Tereza Vlčková is also one of my recent lucky findings. I saw some of her pictures from the "TWO" series but I've never gone any further before.

  • Vee Speers didn't publish their works since 2009 ("The Birthday Party" book) but they have some nice photo shoots on their website for you to check out. And I have a short video preview of their book:

She is known by her "Artek, un été en Crimée" album which I like heaps but it's far not the only album she has!

One of my favorite series is "Sasha". There are some pieces of it on her website but not all the works I like.

Favorites from the website:

Favorites from the published book:

  • My favorite series by Angela Strassheim, aka the author of the album "Left Behind",

Julia

Horses

First haircut

Savannah at the window

is "Pause". I actually want to cry a little because of the fact that she decided to publish "Left Behind" instead. The "Pause" series has far more cool pictures!

Makayla

Girl in Hammock

Walking The Sheep

Hoola Hoop

Fort

Waiting Room

The Spanking

Hm, yes. I guess, this is very much it. Hatred news and girls reviews is all I wanted to speak about. Gonna get some coffee before our today's flight to Tokyo.

  1. what, exactly, is third wave feminism doing to destroy feminity, feminism and common sense?

    1. In the modern world, women have all the rights that men have (in some situations there is far more pressure on men, than on women). Thanks to the great strong ladies from the past. Also, thanks for the modern feminists who continue to stand up for women’s rights. It’s cool that there are still some real right feminists in this world.

But all this ~left feminism~… it just doesn’t help women in any way. It doesn’t try to tell the world that it’s beautiful, great, magical to be a woman, a girl. It only says “We wants to be like men (IN THE WORST POSSIBLE WAY)! Farting, armpits hair and extra junk food portions are the cool things!”.

I just think, women should stay women. Stay beautiful and healthy. Who has ever said that farting fat men are handsome but not just disgusting (as I see it (but also, who doesn’t?!))?

How somebody can possibly teach girls to fart, stink, become fatter and feel good about it? These are bad things to do, either for men or for women.

I find it insane what the modern feminists try to do with the female gender. They’re consistently disfiguring it, destroying all the beauty and magic it has (had?).

    2. yes, politically speaking women DO have the same legal rights as men do in many (but far, far from all) countries, but that does not solve the moral and social issues pertaining to society. patriarchy, the construct which allows men to be political, social and moral authority is still very much present in the "modern world". men still make up the majority of all well-paid positions, earn more than women and frequently don't get evicted for raping women, because it's somehow women's responsibility to make sure they don't get raped (don't walk around when it's dark outside, don't dress in short skirts, don't wear too much make up)... slutshaming is a patriarchal construct. be flirty and pretty, but don't be too pretty or you're a whore. does this exist for men?

the femininity you're speaking of is a social construct, a product of patriarchy. in its patriarchal context, femininity means to be pretty, sensual, well-behaved, silent, groomed to absurdity -- all of which keeps women from succeeding in other areas of their lives. so yes, women definitely keep up with, vouch for and defend these ideals, but it is still a patriarchal construct, a glitch in the "modern world"s attempt to let men and women be equals.

the ideals for the female body (whether it be a size 12 or a size 0) is a way to keep women constantly preoccupied with the way they look, a preoccupation that only makes sense as a way of coping. women who do not dress accordingly, who do not do their uttermost to keep their appearance as perfected as possible are not "feminine" and are less likely to get a good job, a good status and to be treated nicely. men, however, can look however they want and still get a top position. similarily, if a woman is too bossy and loud and intimidating as a boss, she will be disliked, where as a man acting the same way is respected. if women were to "stay" women, how would they ever get the same status as men if femininity is in and of itself subordinate to masculinity?

the strong ladies from the past did not get to where we are today by being pretty, sensual and quiet, and they certainly did not shave their whole body. they got what they wanted by being firm, angry and loud. if they were to have remained "feminine" they wouldn't have gotten their way at all. think about that for awhile.

    3. Firstly, there are much more men interested in getting well-paid jobs to earn money both for themselves and for their women. Because if man doesn’t pay for his woman it’s “shame on man”. If woman pays for her man, the man will be called “gigolo” = shame on man.

Secondly, there are plenty of examples of successful women who take well-paid and well-respected positions. It’s just a supply and demand thing.

Also, please, look one more time at the picture I posted above about women/men perception of beauty.

About rapes: I believe, there was a couple of sentences in my previous reply which could be an answer to your argument: “..thanks for the modern feminists who continue to stand up for women’s rights. It’s cool that there are still some real right feminists in this world."

Agh it’s just so boring to discuss.

    4. P.S. "women who do not dress accordingly, who do not do their uttermost to keep their appearance as perfected as possible are not "feminine" and are less likely to get a good job, a good status and to be treated nicely.”

"the strong ladies from the past did not get to where we are today by being pretty, sensual and quiet, and they certainly did not shave their whole body. they got what they wanted by being firm, angry and loud."

You understand how badly you contradicted yourself now, right?
